August 3, 2009 -- Glassboro, NJ – Destination ImagiNation® (DI), the world’s premier nonprofit creativity, teamwork, and problem solving organization, is pleased to announce the following organizational changes:
- Rusty McCarty will assume the position of Creative Director and Chief Operating Officer. In this expanded role, Rusty will directly oversee the DI Program and Imagination-4-Life, business development, the DI Start-A-Team recruitment promotion, marketing and brand development, and international operations. Mr. McCarty will report to Chuck Cadle, CE
Roger Garriock will assume the position of Director for DI Canada. In this newly established role, Roger will be responsible for developing DI in Canada and continue his role as DIcor Program Manager. Mr. Garriock will now report to Rusty McCarty.- Maureen Donovan will assume the newly created role of Director of Human Resources and Board of Trustees Administration. In this new role, Maureen will be responsible for on-boarding, skill inventories, HR administration, insurance, contract management, BOT reports, DI vital documents (e.g., personnel records, policy manual, employee manual, etc.), BOT meeting planning, and BOT compliance. Ms. Donovan will report to Chuck Cadle once she transitions into this position.
- Linda Wayne will continue working with our DI partners but will now be responsible for developing new opportunities for expanding our current DI partner relationships. Linda’s new position will be Director of Partnership Relations. Ms. Wayne will report to Rusty McCarty and eventually to the Marketing and Public Relations Coordinator once s/he is hired.
- Ginger Green will assume the newly created role of Volunteerism/Alumni Coordinator. Because more than 30,000 DI volunteers are involved in DI and more than 2 million students have participated in the DI program, DI volunteers and alumni are important constituencies for the growth of DI. Ms. Green will report to Rusty McCarty.
- Peggy Middendorf will assume the dual role of Imagination-4-Life Program Coordinator and Start-A-Team Development Coordinator. Ms. Middendorf will report to Rusty McCarty.
- Andrew Whitmire has recently joined DI as Operations Project Manager. In this role, Andrew will be responsible for project management and for Imagination-4-Life and special projects for DI. Mr. Whitmire will report to Rusty McCarty.
- Jennifer Batchelor’s position has been updated to Service Coordinator. Jennifer will oversee team services and reception, data entry, and shipping and receiving. Ms. Batchelor will report to Rusty McCarty.
