More Students Have Access to an Exhilarating After-School Activity

October 3, 2009 – Glassboro, NJ – Destination ImagiNation, Inc. is pleased to announce the addition of three new State Leaders. They will bring the Destination ImagiNation® program to Arizona, Idaho, and Kansas,and will provide support for students to experience this extraordinary after-school activity.

Destination ImagiNation, Inc. is a non-profit organization that provides educational programs for students to learn and express creativity, teamwork and problem solving.  In Destination ImagiNation, the organization’s core program, students work in teams to solve mind-bending Challenges and preset their solutions at Tournaments.  

“To date more than 1.3 million students have participated in the Destination ImagiNation program. We are excited to be able to provide support for teams with local trainings and Tournaments that were previously unavailable in these states,” said Rusty McCarty, Creative Director and COO of Destination ImagiNation, Inc.

 Destination ImagiNation Team Challenges fall into seven categories: technical, scientific, fine arts, improvisational, structural, service learning, and noncompetitive (for early learners).

 “As an educator, I was drawn to Destination ImagiNation’s ability to bring out the best in students to experience and apply critical-thinking skills and work as a team,” said Kathleen Bethel,  Destination ImagiNation State Leader in Arizona. “I am proud to be leading the efforts in Arizona to get the word out about the program and how it enriches students’ academic experiences by teaching skills they can apply for the rest of their lives.”

Many Destination ImagiNation teams have already formed across these states and have started developing their Solutions for their local Tournaments.
