Talent selected for Destination ImagiNation’s Start a Team Video Diary Contest

Cherry Hill, NJ- December 10, 2009- After a two-month open submission and more than 40 entries Destination ImagiNation, Inc has selected six teams to compete in the Start a Team Video Diary Contest. The social media-based competition will document the DI experience through the eyes of the competing teams.

“These teams were selected based on numerous criteria, but ultimately it was their energy, charisma, and most importantly the enthusiasm for the program that made them stand out.” said Rusty McCarty, COO and Creative Director, Destination ImaigNation. “We are excited to see what these teams do over a five month period, and hopefully will reach a whole new audience of potential DI students through their video post.”

The selected teams are as diverse in age and experiences as their backgrounds and schools. The teams competing are: Synonym Puns; Just J-5k; YoYoBeanz; Unnecessary Therapy; Chocolate Bunnies; and, Dominos.

Beginning January 2010, each team will be required to post up to five video entries on www.IDODI.org on a variety of topics. The required topics for all participants include how they work as a team, what they enjoy about participating in DI, and even get their Team Managers involved in the show. Each team will promote their blogs using traditional and social media, and the winning team will be selected based on the number of unique visitors.

“I am personally excited to see how the teams promote their blogs to attract viewers.” said Matthew Arts, Marketing and Public Relations Director, Destination ImagiNation. “You never know, I might wind up using their ideas for my own campaigns!
