May 6, 2010-Cherry Hill, NJ-Longtime Destination ImagiNation (DI) volunteer Simon Dodd has been awarded the Volunteer of the Year award from his employer Lexmark. In his honor, Lexmark will make a $2,500 donation to the Kentucky Destination ImagiNation affiliate.
Dodd has been a DI volunteer for more than 17 years for the Kentucky Affiliate. He was a charter member of the first global Alumni Council for DI and a co-developer of a now hugely popular and edgy competition called DI eXtreme®, which was designed specifically to engage high school and college-aged participants.
“Simon has been an invaluable volunteer within Kentucky by striving to give every child the opportunity to participate,” said Rusty McCarty, COO and Creative Director for Destination ImagiNation, Inc. “Simon is an instrumental and devoted volunteer, and he sets the standard for the more than 35,000 volunteers that our organization maintains annually.”
The Volunteer of the Year Award is designed to encourage volunteerism among Lexmark employees worldwide as part of the company’s commitment to corporate citizenship. Each year, one employee is selected from nominees worldwide to receive this award.
