After eight years and some unique and exciting experiences along the way, we will be discontinuing the DI eXtreme program. This decision was not made lightly. After reviewing the fiscal and participation trends over the past seasons, it is apparent that continuing to produce DI eXtreme is not in our best business and organizational interests.
This does not mean that the spirit, uniqueness and edginess of DI eXtreme will be removed from Destination ImagiNation programming. We will be creating a ‘best-of’ compilation of DI eXtreme that can be purchased to use at future events, and we are experimenting with creating Challenge experiences that will target high school and university level students within other products and event offerings.
There have been some great innovations from DI eXtreme that have been adopted into other Challenges, such as the scoring process for Construction Challenge. We will be sending updates about the compilation resource when it is ready. Thank you to everyone for your support of DI eXtreme.
