Destination ImagiNation (DI) is proud to announce Construction Challenge, a career-education initiative offered in partnership with the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM), has earned two new recognitions.
Construction Challenge has been chosen for a 2009 Trade Show Executive Innovation Award, and it has been placed on the Associations Advance America 2009 honor roll.
Construction Challenge was recently recognized by Trade Show Executive magazine as an innovative career-centered program. Trade Show Executive’s Innovation Awards are presented to organizations that use creative energy to innovate new solutions in their industries. Construction Challenge was awarded for being “head and shoulders above other recruitment efforts” due to measured results and the fruitful partnership of DI and AEM.
“When the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) leaders saw a need to recruit young people into the construction industry, they didn’t turn to abstract talks at high schools or booth space at job fairs,” writes Sandi Cain of Trade Show Executive. “Instead, they teamed with not-for-profit volunteer group Destination ImagiNation of Glassboro, NJ, a specialist in creative problem solving.”

The Associations Advance America 2009 honor roll is a national awards competition presented by the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) and the Center for Association Leadership, Washington, DC.
